Greetings from Ghana Day 4

Had it not been for the Lord, who was on our side, let the people God say: “where would I be?”

Beloved, I am delighted to share that the Lord our God is a keeper. My time in Enchi was short. I stayed for just one night. As the team worked on packing educational supplies for today’s missions efforts, I worked with Bishop to address technical issues at the missions house. Then early this morning, before the sun was up, I was on the first bus back.

Let me tell you why the Lord is a keeper. Saints, I was up before the roosters crowed. And waited to get on a bus that took prayer and fasting to make it to our destination. The holes in the vehicle let dust from the road into every part of clothes. So if I look dusty when I return, that’s just Ghana’s glory on me 😂! Thankfully I was with an excellent guide named Victor, who showed me the ropes. Once we made it back to the city we caught another bus. This bus actually broke down about a mile after we took off. 🫠

But God! It was a blessing to break down in the city and not on the remote roads from the village. It was a blessing to break down before it was dark. It was a blessing we broke down so I could stop at favorite restaurant of mine on our way back to the mission house in the city. As we are in the thanksgiving season, I don’t know about you but I just feel like giving God thanks for every breakdown that lead to a blessing! I thank God for every setback that was a setup for a comeback! Glory to our God who never wastes a battle!!!

I also learned a lesson on our journey. On most occasions, I am in a role of responsibility. It was very humbling to have to depend wholly on Mr. Victor, my guide. He understood social cues and could read between the lines to ensure we paid a fair bus fare and that we were not left behind on the way. I learned to be grateful while being a passenger. As I told you, on our journey one of the buses broke down. I immediately started asking questions to try to fix things. But Victor told me to wait and be patient. It was tough because I am used to telling other to wait not having to be told. But I was obedient! And I’m glad he ended up getting us the best door to door service and we even shared a celebratory meal as a result! God is good!

Lord willing I will see you Sunday,

PT
