As we step into 2025, the Solid Rock community is thrilled to embark on a transformative journey of fasting and prayer with our 21-Day Consecration Guide. This guide is designed to deepen our relationship with God and focus on our theme from Hebrews 13:8, “Focus on Jesus.”

What Is This Guide All About?

This season of consecration isn’t just about refraining from food—it’s about devoting ourselves fully to prayer, worship, and seeking God’s presence. Each day, we’re encouraged to P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens), dedicating an additional hour daily to the prayer topics outlined in the guide.

Fasting Options

The guide offers a variety of fasting approaches to suit different lifestyles and needs:

  1. Complete Fast: Refrain from all food for a period of time, ideal for those who can manage their schedule accordingly.

  2. Partial Fast: Skip specific meals or fast during certain hours, breaking the fast at a set time.

  3. Alternative Fasting Methods: Limit social media, screen time, or other distractions.

  4. Daniel Plan: A plant-based diet inspired by Daniel 1:8-16, incorporating exercise and wholesome habits.

  5. Clean Food Diet: Avoid processed foods and sweets, especially recommended for those with medical restrictions.

Prayer Topics

Here are seven key areas to focus your prayers:

  1. Schools: For students, teachers, and education leaders.

  2. Government: At all levels for wisdom, integrity, and equity.

  3. Neighborhoods: Stability, resources, and community health.

  4. Churches: Unity and strength among congregations.

  5. Families: Healing, financial stability, and generational blessings.

  6. Global Concerns: Frontline workers, ethical leadership, and revival.

  7. Revival: That God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

Why Fast?

Fasting is more than a religious tradition; it’s a powerful way to seek God and experience His presence. The Bible provides examples of fasting for guidance, repentance, and renewal:

  • Jesus fasted to acknowledge His reliance on God (Luke 4:1-2).

  • Daniel fasted to express grief (Daniel 10:2-3).

  • The early church fasted to commit their ministry to the Lord (Acts 13:2).

By fasting, we shift our focus from earthly needs to heavenly priorities, demonstrating our dependence on God.

Practical Tips

  • Pray Consistently: Fasting without prayer is dieting. Prayer is the power (Matt 17:21).

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to stay healthy.

  • Consult Your Doctor: If you have medical conditions or are pregnant, prioritize safety.
